Shikashima Lesuire Ride

A short round of riding to help break up the monotony of sightseeing. Nice bayside ride with a couple of simple cafes along the way. The bike rental was OK in price but it was surely worth the experience.

While I didn’t ave the chance to cycle round the entire route, I can certainly see why this would be a very enjoyable ride to experience if done in full.

Homebridge adventures

I’ve been playing with home bridge for a while as a way to bring to life the various IOT hacks i’ve been fooling around with. I’ve found it so far to be an excellent project and have since set it up to work with my Cubieboard, Particle IO, Yeelights, and Belkin devices. Other than just being able to turn on/off these items in software and SIRI, i also wanted to be able to automatically setup the room lights to match the daylight colour temperature outdoors as the day progresses. Otherwise, whats the purpose of getting lights that can support 16 million colours? Continue reading Homebridge adventures

Tokyo 3hr Bike Ride

Had some time, so i did a short bike tour when i was in Tokyo. A relaxing 3 hour ride in 20+ degrees. I must say that it was fun, safe and something i would recommend especially wifi you enjoy cycling. Granted that the other routes that are 6 hours long might offer a little more variety, but if you have just half a day, it is totally worth it.

Bike route, photos and some brochures that i picked up along the way below.

NightHawk X6 Performance

If you have a nighthawk X6 from Netgear and think that you have a great router… boy are you right! Until you turned on all the features and run a speed test. To your horror, you realise that you just can’t hit the maximum bandwidth your ISP has provided. Perhaps getting stuck at about ~350Mbps to ~400Mbps.

Word of advice. Turn OFF the traffic meter, and life would be great again. Something around ~800+ Mbps type of great.
