Love this poster by Gary Overcare titled “Unix Magic”

The previous post briefly pointed out the hardware configuration and motivation behind setting up a 2011 MacMini Server as a new desktop system. I now highlight the various configuration decision and challenges (if any).
The first thing to remove from the setup was wires. It was mentioned in the previous post that i did the initial setup using a wired keyboard. However, once the system was completely updated using APT, i set out to pair my Mac keyboard and Trackpad. The process kinda works. (1) you take the battery out, (2) put the battery back in and turn on the device, (3) go to the ubuntu settings -> bluetooth and look for your device. it shows up, pair. Seems to work great. Continue reading Setting up a 2011 MacMini in 2021 — SoftwareGot my PalmIII for a while now with my own USB serial and expansion “port”. Surely made things lot easier. Installed one of my fav Pacman clones called Gobble! which is a freeware. But one big gripe that i had was that the game couldn’t be paused! Looking away from the game could result in losing a life point.
It really took me a long while before I wrote the post. Partly coz I was really tired after all the mods done to my Palm, but also that after I completed it… I forgot. 🙂
From Part 2 when I last left off, I was really having issues trying to get the Palm to communicate with my Linux system at the full speed. 19200bps was the fastest I could go but I just couldn’t go 115200bps.
